Hi to all!
Hopefully everyone is taking advantage of this wonderful weather for our last weeks of summer.
Thanks to our water testing team for completing the recent testing on Tuesday, August 19th. The results came back yesterday and are reported as follows:
Microcystin Toxin Testing (µg/L)
Lake Rosalind 1 - 1.66 down from 3.18 (July 20)
Lake Rosalind 2 - 1.84 down from 2.45 (July 20)
Marl Lake 1 - 1.55 down from 1.81 (July 20)
Marl Lake 2 -1.17 down from 1.32 (July 20)
These results are low considering the large amount of B-G Algae we have experienced this summer. One consideration might be that the Biochar is doing its job gathering up the toxins as they are released from the cells.
Some of you may also be noting a reduction in the B-G Algae scums near your shoreline or in the larger lakes. The clarity also appears to be improving over the past weeks.
That being said, please remember to avoid recreational activities in any area (especially shoreline) of the lake where algae scum or bloom may be present.
Enjoy the sunny days ahead!
